Was just announced in Sony's E3 press conference, looks like a suped up version of FFXI to me... and looked like the same races from FFXI as well, wonder if you can transfer your FFXI character

No clue, either Rapture was just a code name for this or there is another title that Square-Enix has yet to anounce since I think they we're supposed to announce 4 new titles during E3 and so far I think this and Nier are the only new titles that have been announced so far?...

The graphics look pretty sweet so far, but need to see more lol

Disclaimer: I want to love/like this game. I'm excited for it. I love the FF series & am a fan of all(most) of them. I still believe each FF should be different, they all have their own stories, that's what I love about the series. If there is a sequel, fine, say it is, and you can enjoy more of the story you loved.


1) lol same game, races, environment, etc

3) omg chat log is so small and text is scrolling by faster than you can read

4) ok so the clipping didn't look good but the draw distance was awesome. And the detail was nice

5) lol Field of Valor (that is name of FoV?) added at start of game. "1/4 Dodo, 2/6 Puks"

6) Still looks like a console game (I know it is on PS3, but simutainious release unlike FFXI, which was a port) that isn't really a bad thing imo, since I love consoles & don't play PC games, ever really.

7) Now we have to run after mobs to let our char "auto-attack"? It didn't look too involved to attack a mob, like FFXI. Would be nice if press X and you swing a sword...

8) Development: Well, where to start. This game was in secret development under the codename "Rapture" for 3 or 4 years. That's cool. But it was the same team that was/is still working on FFXI. They had to SPLIT development for both games, that is alot on their plate, and why the updates in FFXI have been severely LACKING for years now. What about when this game goes live in 1~1.5 years? Can we expect the same divided attention? Get serious & do updates weekly or monthly at worse. I've seen other MMOs do this, and stay in touch.

9) Calling the races (Tarutaru, Galka, Mithra, Elvaan) under a different name & chopping off a Galka tail isn't going to convince me this is a "different" game, I expect originality. It's safe to say after 5 years in FFXI world, we deserve something NEW, you know this is a NEW game.

10) Mules, for the love of god don't make them cost $1, every other MMO more char are free, not like you can play them at the same time...

11) I'm loving the idea of "No EXP in this game" you level up your char by using diff weapons & stuff, your char "grows" very intriguing. No other MMO has done this, I'm pretty excited to see how it really works.

But can you play this on the ps3 slim? Still having a hard time forcing myself to pay 500 for a blu ray

But would have to agree with the fact the same race stuff is kinda meh something new woulda been good, kinda looks like a better cleaner version of ffxi and our game we know and love was just a long ass beta test

Should be able to since where the PS3 is basically the same as a normal PS3 (minus backwards play), the PS2 was different because the HDD was an add-on that was left out of the slim version.
